DSIP 5 SPRAY

DSIP-5 is a naturally occurring neuropeptide studied for its role in deep restorative sleep, sleep architecture optimization, and neuroendocrine regulation. Unlike traditional sleep aids, DSIP works at the neurochemical level, supporting the body’s own sleep mechanisms by influencing slow-wave sleep and stress hormone pathways. Delivered via a nasal spray for rapid absorption, this formulation is ideal for investigative research into sleep physiology, circadian rhythm regulation, and recovery biology. Key Features 🌙 Naturally occurring sleep-related neuropeptide🧪 Designed for research into deep sleep and recovery pathways⚖️ Supports neuroendocrine and stress-response mechanisms📄 High-purity investigational formulation🔬 For research and investigational use only Key Benefits 💤 Enhances Deep Sleep – Supports slow-wave sleep associated with restorative rest and recovery.🔄 Supports Recovery – Promotes overnight physical and mental restoration.🧠 Reduces Stress Hormones – Investigated for modulation of cortisol and stress-related signaling.⚖️ Balances Hormones – Supports natural sleep-linked growth hormone release.🧠 Neuroprotective Effects – Explored for potential protective roles in sleep-related neural function.⏱️ Improves Sleep Onset – May help reduce time to fall asleep without grogginess or sedation. Human-Relevant Research Application 🔬 Clinical exploration of DSIP on sleep behavior in humansA double-blind, cross-over study in normal volunteers found that intravenous DSIP infusion increased feelings of sleep pressure and increased total sleep time and sleep efficiency compared to placebo, with effects on sleep onset and stages—highlighting DSIP’s role in supporting natural sleep functions in controlled research settings. 🔗 https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/6895513/

What is DSIP 5 SPRAY?

DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is a nine-amino-acid peptide. It was first isolated in 1977 by Swiss researchers from the blood of rabbits in which sleep had been induced by brain stimulation. It was named for its reported ability to increase delta, or slow-wave, sleep in rabbits.

DSIP has been found in the brain and in peripheral tissues. How it works is still not well understood, and no specific receptor has been identified. Research suggests it may interact with several systems, including stress hormone and neurotransmitter pathways.

Also known as: Delta sleep-inducing peptide, Emideltide

What are peptides?

What the research covers

DSIP has been studied since the 1970s in animals and in small human studies. Animal research has looked at sleep patterns, stress responses and pain. Small human studies in the 1980s and 1990s examined sleep in people with insomnia, with mixed results. One double-blind study in chronic insomnia found only weak effects and concluded that short-term use was unlikely to give major benefit. Overall, the evidence is limited, older and inconsistent. Researchers have described DSIP as a still unresolved puzzle. DSIP is not approved as a medicine by the US FDA.

Frequently asked questions

What does the research on DSIP show?

DSIP has been studied for sleep in animals and in small human studies. Human results have been mixed and the studies are mostly older and small, so the evidence is limited.

How is DSIP different from melatonin?

Melatonin is a hormone made by the pineal gland that helps signal night-time to the body. DSIP is a peptide whose mechanism is still unclear. They are unrelated compounds.

Which formats are available and how do I store them?

We supply DSIP as a pen, cartridge, vial or nasal spray. Pens, cartridges and reconstituted vials are kept refrigerated. Nasal sprays are refrigerated after opening unless the label says otherwise. Follow the storage instructions on your pharmacy label.

Are there side effects?

Side effects can occur. Your GP will review your health, medication and, where relevant, blood results before prescribing, and you should report anything unexpected.
