Epitalon Pen

Epitalon (Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide derived from Epithalamin, a naturally occurring polypeptide produced by the pineal gland. It is one of the most studied peptides in longevity and anti-aging science, with a significant body of research exploring its role in cellular lifespan and biological clock regulation. What Epitalon is studied for: Telomere support - Epitalon has been studied for its ability to activate telomerase, the enzyme responsible for maintaining telomere length. Telomere shortening is one of the key biological markers of cellular aging Circadian rhythm regulation - Research highlights Epitalon's role in restoring natural melatonin secretion and supporting healthy sleep-wake cycles, particularly as they decline with age Antioxidant activity - Studied for its capacity to reduce oxidative stress at the cellular level, supporting protection against age-related cellular damage Longevity and healthspan - Among the most researched peptides in geroscience, with studies exploring its influence on biological aging markers across multiple organ systems Epitalon is widely considered one of the foundational compounds in precision longevity medicine, with decades of published research supporting its mechanisms.

What is Epitalon Pen?

Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide made of four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and glycine. It was developed in Russia by Vladimir Khavinson's group, based on epithalamin, an extract from the bovine pineal gland.

Epitalon is described as a peptide bioregulator. Laboratory research suggests it may interact with DNA and influence gene expression. It has been studied for effects on telomerase, the enzyme that maintains telomeres at the ends of chromosomes, and on melatonin production by the pineal gland.

Also known as: Epithalon, Epithalone, AEDG peptide, Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly

What are peptides?

What the research covers

Most research on Epitalon comes from cell and animal studies, largely from one research group in Russia. Cell studies have reported increased telomerase activity and telomere length in human cells. Animal studies have looked at melatonin rhythms, antioxidant activity and lifespan. Human data are limited. Small studies in older adults have used the related pineal extract epithalamin, often combined with other peptides. Large, independent, controlled trials of Epitalon are lacking, so its effects in people remain uncertain. Epitalon is not approved as a medicine by the US FDA.

Frequently asked questions

How is Epitalon different from Pinealon?

Both are short synthetic peptides from the same Russian research group. Epitalon is a four-amino-acid peptide (AEDG) linked to the pineal gland and telomerase research. Pinealon is a three-amino-acid peptide (EDR) studied mainly for brain and nerve cell effects.

What does the research on Epitalon show?

Cell studies have reported effects on telomerase and telomere length, and animal studies have looked at melatonin and lifespan. Human evidence is limited and comes mainly from small studies by one group.

Which formats are available and how do I store them?

We supply Epitalon as a pen, cartridge, vial or nasal spray. Pens, cartridges and reconstituted vials are kept refrigerated. Nasal sprays are refrigerated after opening unless the label says otherwise. Follow the storage instructions on your pharmacy label.

Are there side effects?

Side effects can occur. Your GP will review your health, medication and, where relevant, blood results before prescribing, and you should report anything unexpected.

How much Epitalon will I take?

Your dose is set by our licensed GP following a consultation, and printed on your pharmacy label.
