FOX-04 - Forkhead Box Protein
950.00 AED — In stock

Forkhead Box Protein 4‑D‑Retro‑Inverso (FOX‑04 / FOXO4‑DRI) is a synthetic senolytic peptide engineered to help selectively neutralize and remove senescent cells — aged or damaged cells that persist in tissues, contribute to chronic inflammation, impair recovery, and accelerate aging. By targeting the interaction between FOXO4 and p53, FOX‑04 facilitates programmed apoptosis of senescent cells, supporting tissue renewal, improved cellular environments, and research into longevity and anti‑aging pathways. Selective senolytic action: Targets cells with high FOXO4 expression while sparing normal proliferating cells. Supports tissue homeostasis research: Clearing senescent cells can improve cellular environments for regeneration and reduce pro‑inflammatory signaling in experimental models. What is FOX-04 - Forkhead Box Protein?
FOXO4-DRI is a synthetic peptide of 46 amino acids. It was designed by Peter de Keizer's research group and described in 2017. It is a D-retro-inverso peptide, meaning it is built from D-amino acids in reverse order. This design makes it more resistant to breakdown in the body.
In senescent cells, which have stopped dividing but do not die, the protein FOXO4 binds p53 and helps keep these cells alive. FOXO4-DRI is designed to interfere with this binding. In laboratory studies this allowed p53 to trigger cell death in senescent cells. Compounds that target senescent cells are called senolytics.
Also known as: FOXO4-DRI, FOXO4 D-retro-inverso peptide, Proxofim
What the research covers
FOXO4-DRI is at a preclinical stage. The original 2017 study reported that it removed senescent cells in mice and was associated with improvements in fur, fitness and kidney function in aged and fast-ageing mice. Later cell and animal studies have explored its use in other tissues, and structural research has examined how it binds p53. There are no published controlled clinical trials of FOXO4-DRI in humans. Its safety and effects in people are unknown. FOXO4-DRI is not approved as a medicine by the US FDA or other major regulators.

Frequently asked questions
What is a senolytic?
A senolytic is a compound designed to selectively remove senescent cells, which have stopped dividing but remain active. FOXO4-DRI has been studied as a senolytic in cell and animal research only.
What does the research on FOXO4-DRI show?
Studies in mice and cells suggest it can remove senescent cells. There are no published controlled human trials, so its effects and safety in people are not known.
How should I store FOX-04?
FOX-04 is supplied as a vial. Once reconstituted, keep it refrigerated at 2-8°C, protected from light, and do not freeze. Follow the storage instructions on your pharmacy label.
Are there side effects?
Side effects can occur. Your GP will review your health, medication and, where relevant, blood results before prescribing, and you should report anything unexpected. Because there is no published human trial data, side effects in people are not well described.
