OXYTOCIN 10 SPRAY

Oxytocin, often called the “love hormone” or “bonding peptide,” plays a powerful role in emotional regulation, social connection, and stress modulation. Oxytocin 10 IU is formulated to support investigational research into emotional wellness, social bonding pathways, stress response regulation, and intimacy-related neuroendocrine signaling. Unlike standard mood or stress treatments, oxytocin works directly on neural circuits in the limbic system — the part of the brain involved in emotion, trust, empathy, and social cognition — and is also implicated in aspects of sexual health and relaxation physiology. Key Features 🧠 Targets neuroendocrine signaling involved in emotional and social behavior⚖️ Designed for research into stress modulation and social connectivity💞 Activates pathways associated with bonding and trust responses🧪 High‑purity peptide for research and experimental use📄 For investigational research use only Key Benefits ❤️ Enhances Emotional Bonding – Supports neurochemical pathways related to trust and social connection.😌 Reduces Stress & Anxiety – Associated with decreased distress and improved psychological coping in social contexts.🫂 Supports Social Confidence – Implicated in promoting positive social interactions and mood stability.💓 Improves Sexual Health – Investigated for roles in orgasmic response and intimate closeness.🌙 Encourages Restful Relaxation – May contribute to calmness and mental ease before sleep. Human‑Relevant Research Application 🔬 Oxytocin modulates human social and emotional neural circuitsIn a double‑blind intranasal study with healthy adults, oxytocin administration reduced amygdala activation, a brain region central to fear and stress responses, and modulated neural pathways associated with social cognition and emotional processing. This provides human evidence that oxytocin enhances social bonding, reduces stress responses, and supports emotional regulation.🔗 PubMed Study Who Can Benefit Researchers investigating neuroendocrine mechanisms of social behavior Studies on emotional regulation and stress response Investigations into intimacy, bonding, and social cognition pathways Experimental protocols exploring sexual health and affiliative neuroscience

What is OXYTOCIN 10 SPRAY?

Oxytocin is a natural nine amino acid peptide hormone. It is made in the hypothalamus and released from the posterior pituitary. Two cysteines in its chain are joined by a disulfide bridge, which forms a small ring.

Oxytocin acts on oxytocin receptors throughout the body. It is best known for its roles in childbirth and breastfeeding. It also acts in the brain, where it is thought to be involved in social behaviour, bonding and stress responses. Synthetic oxytocin has the same sequence as the natural hormone.

Also known as: Pitocin, Syntocinon, OT

What are peptides?

What the research covers

Oxytocin's role in labour is well established through clinical use. Its effects on mood and behaviour have been studied in many small human trials, often using a nasal spray. An early study reported that intranasal oxytocin increased trust in an economic game. Later research has looked at anxiety, social cognition and autism, with mixed results, and some early findings have not been consistently replicated. Oxytocin is approved by the US FDA as Pitocin injection for obstetric use. Its use for mood or social behaviour is not approved.

Frequently asked questions

What does the research on oxytocin show?

Oxytocin is well established in childbirth. Research on mood and social behaviour, mostly using nasal sprays, is mixed, and some early findings have not been consistently replicated.

How is the nasal spray different from the injectable?

The nasal spray is the form used in most mood and behaviour research. Injections act mainly in the body rather than the brain. Your GP will advise which format suits you.

Are there side effects with Oxytocin?

Side effects can occur. Your GP will review your health, medication and, where relevant, blood results before prescribing, and you should report anything unexpected.

Which formats are available and how should I store them?

Oxytocin is available as: vial (injectable), nasal spray. Your GP will help you choose the most suitable format. Keep unopened lyophilised vials cool and dry, away from light. After reconstitution, refrigerate at 2-8C, protect from light and do not freeze. Refrigerate the nasal spray after opening unless your pharmacy label says otherwise. Follow the storage instructions on your pharmacy label.

How much Oxytocin should I take?

Your dose is set by our licensed GP following a consultation, and printed on your pharmacy label.
