PT-141 Pen

PT‑141, also known as Bremelanotide, is a synthetic peptide from the melanocortin family. Unlike traditional sexual enhancement approaches that act on the vascular system, PT‑141 works directly on the central nervous system to influence pathways involved in sexual desire and arousal. This mechanism makes it a unique candidate in research focused on libido and intimacy support. ⚗️ Product Features 🧪 Melanocortin receptor agonist peptide 🧠 Targets central nervous system pathways related to desire ✅ ≥98 % purity verified by HPLC 📄 Batch‑specific Certificates of Analysis (COAs) included 💧 Sterile, lyophilized peptide for research applications 🔬 Human‑Relevant Research Applications 🔥 Enhances Sexual Desire & Arousal Clinical Phase III trials have demonstrated that bremelanotide significantly improves sexual desire scores and reduces distress associated with low sexual desire in premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) compared with placebo, based on validated measures such as the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) desire domain. 🔗 https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31599840/— Bremelanotide increases sexual desire and reduces distress in HSDD Phase III trials. 🧾 Mechanism Summary 🧠 Central melanocortin receptor (MC4R) agonism influences neural circuits of desire and arousal 📈 Clinically linked to increased desire scores in validated human trials 🧩 Distinct mechanism from vascular‑targeted sexual enhancement agents ❓ Frequently Asked Research Questions What has PT‑141 been studied for in humans?PT‑141 has been studied mainly for enhancing sexual desire and reducing distress related to low sexual desire in premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder, with statistically significant results in clinical Phase III trials.

What is PT-141 Pen?

PT-141, also called bremelanotide, is a synthetic cyclic peptide. It was developed from Melanotan II, which was originally studied as a tanning agent. Researchers noticed effects on sexual arousal, and PT-141 was developed to focus on that.

PT-141 activates melanocortin receptors, mainly the MC4 receptor in the brain. This pathway is thought to be involved in sexual desire and arousal. Unlike medicines such as sildenafil, it is not designed to act mainly on blood flow. It is given by injection under the skin or by nasal spray.

Also known as: Bremelanotide, Vyleesi

What are peptides?

What the research covers

PT-141 has been studied in large clinical trials. Two randomised phase 3 trials, known as RECONNECT, studied bremelanotide in premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD). An open-label extension then looked at longer-term safety and outcomes. Commonly reported side effects in these studies included nausea, flushing and headache. Earlier studies also looked at PT-141 in men with erectile dysfunction, but it was not developed further for that use. Bremelanotide is approved by the US FDA as Vyleesi for acquired, generalised HSDD in premenopausal women.

Frequently asked questions

Is PT-141 the same as Vyleesi?

Vyleesi is the US brand name for bremelanotide, which is the same active peptide as PT-141. Our products are compounded by licensed pharmacies and are not the branded Vyleesi product.

How is PT-141 different from Melanotan II?

PT-141 was developed from Melanotan II. It differs by one chemical group at its end and was taken forward for sexual desire rather than tanning.

Which formats are available?

We offer PT-141 as a pen, a cartridge, a vial and a nasal spray. Your GP will discuss which format suits you.

Are there side effects?

Side effects can occur. Your GP will review your health, medication and, where relevant, blood results before prescribing, and you should report anything unexpected. In clinical trials, nausea, flushing and headache were commonly reported.
