SLUPP-332 Pen

SLU-PP-332 is a novel research peptide studied for its role in metabolic activation, energy expenditure, and mitochondrial efficiency. Supplied in a sterile peptide pen format, this compound has attracted interest in metabolic and performance research due to its interaction with estrogen-related receptor (ERR) pathways, which regulate fat oxidation, endurance signalling, and cellular energy production. Unlike stimulant-based metabolic agents, SLU-PP-332 is investigated for cell-level metabolic optimisation, making it relevant to research into weight management, metabolic flexibility, and exercise-mimetic pathways. What is SLUPP-332 Pen?

SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic small molecule, not a peptide. It was developed by researchers at Saint Louis University. It activates estrogen-related receptors (ERR alpha, beta and gamma), which are nuclear receptors involved in mitochondrial and energy metabolism. Despite the name, these receptors do not bind estrogen.

ERR alpha in particular helps control genes linked to fat use and mitochondrial activity in muscle. By activating these receptors, SLU-PP-332 is thought to trigger gene changes similar to those seen after aerobic exercise. For this reason it has been described as an 'exercise mimetic' in research.

Also known as: SLU-PP332, ERR agonist, Pan-ERR agonist

What are peptides?

What the research covers

SLU-PP-332 has been studied in preclinical research only, in cells and mice. A 2023 study reported that it increased markers of aerobic muscle metabolism and improved running endurance in mice. Further mouse studies have looked at its effects in models of obesity, metabolic syndrome and the ageing kidney. Newer related compounds are also being developed. There are no published human trials, so its effects and safety in people are unknown. SLU-PP-332 is not approved as a medicine by the US FDA or any other regulator.

Frequently asked questions

Has SLU-PP-332 been tested in humans?

No. All published research is preclinical, in cells and mice. Its effects and safety in people have not been established.

Is SLU-PP-332 a peptide?

No. It is a small molecule that activates estrogen-related receptors. It is listed alongside peptides because it is prescribed and supplied in the same way.

What format is available and how is it stored?

It is available as a pen. Keep it in the fridge at 2-8C, away from light and never frozen. Follow the storage instructions on your pharmacy label.

Are there side effects?

Side effects can occur. Your GP will review your health, medication and, where relevant, blood results before prescribing, and you should report anything unexpected.
